← Florence guide home

About this place

A panoramic viewpoint overlooking Florence, its cathedral and the Arno.

What to see and do

Enjoy the skyline and take photographs without rushing.

Self-guided walking tour · about 35 minutes

Follow these suggested stops at your own pace. This is a flexible guide rather than a booked guided tour.

  1. Arrive by bus or taxi near the upper viewpoint rather than climbing from the river.
  2. Walk to the panoramic terrace and identify the Duomo, Palazzo Vecchio and Ponte Vecchio.
  3. Spend time taking photographs and enjoying the skyline.
  4. Return by transport if the downhill walk would be uncomfortable.

Easier option: The panorama is the priority, not a strenuous hill walk. Public transport routes should be rechecked.
